The novel that I studied was 'Dear Mr Kilmer' by Anne Schraff. An unforgettable event that made me angry was when the Schermers' tavern was vandalized.Besides that, there were 3 events that made me furious. First of all, I was angry because the Schermers were treated with nothing but prejudice. The people of Turtle Lake vandalized the Schermers tavern by painting "Dirty Huns" all over their tavern's walls. This immature action made me very angry because it is wrong to mistreat others just because of their foreign ethnicities and race. Secondly, I was angry because residents of Turtle Lake were disrespectful and foul-mannered towards the Schermers. They strongly accused the Schermers as Huns and that they were unpatriotic because they were able to converse in German and served hun food at their tavern while a war was raging on between America and Germany.
