Write about an event that makes you angry. Give reasons why you think the event makes you feel this way. (Dear Mr. Kilmer.)

The novel that I studied was 'Dear Mr Kilmer' by Anne Schraff. An unforgettable event that made me angry was when the Schermers' tavern was vandalized.Besides that, there were 3 events that made me furious.

First of all, I was angry because the Schermers were treated with nothing but prejudice. The people of Turtle Lake vandalized the Schermers tavern by painting "Dirty Huns" all over their tavern's walls. This immature action made me very angry because it is wrong to mistreat others just because of their foreign ethnicities and race.

Secondly, I was angry because residents of Turtle Lake were disrespectful and foul-mannered towards the Schermers. They strongly accused the Schermers as Huns and that they were unpatriotic because they were able to converse in German and served hun food at their tavern while a war was raging on between America and Germany. I was full of red because I know for a fact that no one should be insulted and mocked just because they have a different culture. It was an eye-opener  to see such irrational behaviours and unwanted discrimination towards innocent people like the Schermers that was truly dissapointing.

Thirdly, I was angry because people were being biased towards the Schermers. They believed that the Germans are Huns and a barbaric clan originated from Germany with great faith. I was very angry because people from Turtle Lake generalized a huge group of people and used the stereotypes that they believed against the Schermers without realizing that the everyone is different and stereotypes aren't always true.In addition, they had zero solid proof to back their accusation. This had deeply hurt the Schermers who had never offended anyone or done anyone wrong.

In conclusion, the event where the Schermers was being abused infuriated me. I truly believed that discrimination was unjust.
